Refund policy
If you change your mind about a purchase of official merchandise as a result of selecting the incorrect size, colour or product, The Shop at the University of Newcastle will happily exchange or refund items purchased online for up to 30 days from the purchase date. An exchange or return will only be issued upon receipt of proof of purchase and within this 30 day period.
Items must be unworn, and in original condition with tags attached.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.
Return postage is covered by the customer, but we will not ask you to pay for shipping again if you choose to exchange your purchase for a different size or style.
Please note: Unfortunately, there are no returns or exchanges on custom made to order embroidered staff uniform garments that are available via the staff uniform portal. Visit the uniform portal for more information.
REFUNDS
Our team will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card provider to process and post the refund.
DAMAGED GOODS
The University of Newcastle will cover the cost of shipping on faulty goods or goods that have arrived damaged. Please contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

LATE OR MISSING REFUNDS (IF APPLICABLE)
If there is a delay in receiving your approved refund, please follow the steps below:
- Double-check your bank statement, ensuring this is the account linked to the associated credit card
- Contact your credit card company for more information, as it may take some time before your refund is officially posted. Once posted, often you will experience some processing time before the refund appears in your bank account
- If after the above, you still have not received your refund, please contact us at TheShop@newcastle.edu.au with your order information.
