DESIGN ECO UMBRELLA
Embrace sustainability with this stylish and portable triple-folding RPET umbrella, featuring a distinctive University of Newcastle design. Crafted from recycled water bottles, the umbrella’s pongee canopy not only shields you from the elements but also repurposes waste. Its flexible fiberglass shaft and frame ensure durability even on those windy campus days.
ABOUT THE DESIGN
Created by Wiradjuri staff members Felicity Cocuzzoli and Koan Cashman, elements used in this design come from an art workshop held at our Callaghan campus and were inspired by Elder in-Residence Aunty Bronwyn Chambers using Indigenous ways of collaborative artmaking. The final artwork is called Parray Yayiri meaning ‘right across the land’ in Awabakal language.
